One of our favorite returning organized days is Watersplash day. We are always looking forward to it.. and so do the kids!
On a hot summer day there s the refreshment of a sprinkler to cool the jumping castles and the slides. Water tables are set up and the water area’s are ready to play with!! Let’s cool off and have fun!
What 's in the water?
Water play provides so much fun for children and leads to discovering and learning.
Kids are splashing, squealing, filling, pouring, dumping and swishing water. While playing, children are learning and growing.
Water play allows children to develop fine and gross motor skills across all age ranges. They develop their coordination skills as they dodge water or jump through the sprinklers. They learn that what they do with water has a result, like when they poor water, their bottle is getting empty but it goes somewhere. When it is spoiled on the grass, you can t get it back… when it s poured into a bowl, you can use it again. When you pour it on sand, the sand feels heavier then before… They observe and sense and LEARN.
Water play can also help kids calm their emotions. Pouring, swooshing and stirring water , releases tension in their bodies.
Also social skills are being practiced, for on the water table or in the water area you have to cooperate or take turns.
But most of all, water play is fun. Especially when it is a hot summerday. Friendships are made and memories will stay forever.
How to....
Water play simply involves playing with water, using tools like funnels, containers, cups, bottles, buckets, toys and anything you can think of.
We have water areas, water tables and sometimes special events like watersplash days.
Kids get never bored of water… and sand… or the messy combination of it.
Basically: You provide and they decide WHAT to do with it and learn all the way…
