Today it s the 18th of August. A day to remember!! In the first place because I passed my drivers exam this morning ( yay!!) and in the second place because from today South Africa is on level 2! I am still a bit cautious, but I think the flag is green for daycares to open their doors again!
I have waited for this moment for soooooooo long. We worked very hard on this daycare and the place has truly become awesome! Next week , I ‘ll try to post some recent pictures. I scheduled an appointment with a photographer so you can see for yourself.
The lawn is green, the swings, slide , water area, bouncer and sandpit are waiting for those minies to come play and our bunnies Fifi and Boaz are looking forward to be pet by their new friends….. I also can’t wait to open the doors of our homebased daycare!!
It has been a stressful time for everyone, worldwide. But in the midst of it all, children’s development doesn’t hit the “pause” button. Even the smallest kids have been affected by this lockdown to limit the spreading of COVID-19. Maybe you think that what these young children have missed is not in the same league as canceling senior prom, but I can tell you they have missed out on a lot! Early Childhood, between 0 and 6 years, is an extremely important and sensitive development period. The socialization that happens during creche, daycare or preschool is an important aspect of your child’s development. The routines and connections with friends and daycare workers are a regular part of your child’s early years and help shape their personality, form social skills and build strong foundations for their developing sense of “self”. The reducing of social interaction to limit spreading Corona virus, maybe kept your child “healthy”, but it has also cut down on essential interactive experiences.
But….. I really hope things are changing for the better from now… That parents can go working with the confidence that their kids are being well cared for. I am very hopeful!
Stay tuned because it IS going to happen: homebased daycare Mini Seeds will open it’s doors very soon…. I feel excited to go working with these minis….
Remember: Mini Seeds grow mighty trees!!!
